  • This asana exercises the various joints like hip, knee and ankle joints.

Method I

  1. Lie on the ground with the arms on the sides and inhale.
  2. Raise one leg and while exhaling fold the leg at the knee joint and hold the knee with the hands.
  3. Press the knee on the stomach and keep the other leg straight.
  4. Remain in this posture for four seconds.
  5. While inhaling return tothe original position.
  6. Repeat with the other leg.

Method II

  1. Fold both the legs at the knee joints. The arms should be folded around the legs.
  2. Remain in this posture till the suspension of breath.
  3. The knees and feet should remain together.
  4. While inhaling release both the legs. One must rest before repeating the exercise.
